TEN HUT!

March 31, 2010 - Leave a Response

I am so excited – we have begun a new series call Ten Hut.  It’s all about the journey of Joshua and how he lead the Israelites to the promised land.

This week we learned: God is powerful enough to help me do what He wants me to do!

Joshua and the Israelite army was given a CRAZY mission from God. They were to march around the city of Jericho for 7 days.  And then on the 7th day they were to march around 7 times.  Then on that 7th time the priest would blow their horns and all the army would shout.  Then the walls of Jericho would crumble to the ground so they could attack the city.   Wow!  God is powerful enough that only He could do something like that!

Remember our verse this week:  Philippians 4:6 “Don’t worry about anything; instead pray about everything.  Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” NLT

What do you worry about?  Your grades? Friends at school? Problems at home?   Whatever it maybe, know that God is Powerful enough to take care of it all.  It may seem CRAZY, but he can make those walls fall down.

Have a great week!  Those who were not here this past Sunday – we missed you and hope to see you all again this Sunday!

Hooah!!

Winter Extreme Week 8

February 28, 2010 - Leave a Response

This was the last week for winter extreme and it was an awesome day.  Here are a few highlights from todays lesson.

Bible Verse: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5NLT

Main Point: Disciples of Jesus trust that God has our best in mind.

  • Crab Walking across the floor (way to go Seth)
  • A lot of push ups from the girls (Great Job)
  • Your parents, teacher, and God have your best interest in mind.  (remember the Widget 5000 and the coat birthday story)
  • Depend on God and not YOUR understanding.
  • You may not understand a wait answer but do trust that the best for you is in mind.
  • T Mack Dancing (AKA Seth)
  • Woo Hoo Extreme victory dance and being honest about the competition and losing 1st place.

Challenge: For this week I challenge you to read Luke Chapter 5 on your own.

Winter Extreme Week 4

February 1, 2010 - Leave a Response

Xtreme Athletes Against Authority Association didn’t work out so well this week in Kids Kraze. This week we learned what authority is and that we should obey authority unless they are telling us to do something that goes against the Bible. This weeks main point was DISCIPLES OF JESUS RESPECT AUTHORITY. We talked about parents and teachers telling you to do something you should do it with the right attitude as well as obey the first time. Remember to obey Romans 13:1 this week and respect authority because it ALL authority comes from God.

Don’t forget to pray for the prayer request that were mentioned this week. There were lots of classmates anxious about upcoming test as well as some classmates sick this week. We hope you feel better and study hard for those test.

Week 2 – Disciples of Jesus help others, even if it costs us.

January 17, 2010 - Leave a Response

Hey Kidz Kraze!  It was a great day in Kraze today.  Here’s what went down …

  • the opening activity taught us to help others even if it was hard … and it was a little hard.
  • we saw how Scooter only thought about winning and didn’t want to help others.  But Rock showed how to be a disciple and he helped another team when they were in trouble  … and it cost Rock and his team.
  • sometimes the people who we think should help others, don’t always do it … like the priest and the temple worker in our story.  It was a Samaritan man who helped the Jewish man when no one else would.  We need to be like that Samaritan man and help others even when we know other might think differently of us.
  • it doesn’t matter what others think of us – only what God thinks of us.   Remember … listen and obey.

Our bible verse today:  “Our people must learn to do good by meeting the urgent needs of others …” Titus 3:14a NLT     (hint – remember this for next week!!)

What are some ways that you can help others this week?  Think about it.  I know you can do something.  I can’t wait to hear about your week next Sunday!

Winter Extreme Week 1

January 11, 2010 - Leave a Response

Today in Kids Kraze we started a big adventure on top of the mountain. We are in the mist of the Winter Extreme games. As we saw in the skit, Rock Steadfast told us that we needed to put our techniques to practice. In the skit, he was talking to Scooter about skiing techniques which is very similar to like. Guys we are teaching you every week the “techniques” that are needed for life. Just like he taught Scooter to traverse the course, plow, go through the gates, and keep his head up, you also learned a technique. The technique was our main point and that is Disciples of Jesus Listen and Obey. Mrs. Beth made it really clear that we can’t just listen we HAVE to obey as well. Matthew 7:24a (NLT J) tells us that “anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise.” Remember we don’t want to be the foolish builder we want to be the wise builder and build a “rock” solid foundation. Mrs. Tammy also shared with us a list of people that you guys put in order of priority. (God, Parents, Teacher, Coach, Brother/Sister, Friend) Be cautioned that if you listen to the wrong people first you may not being doing the right thing. This week I challenge you to take the practices that we at Lifesong have taught you and to OBEY those commands, put some of the truth’s to action. We look forward to another great week next week discovering another character quality of becoming a disciple of Christ. Maybe next week the girls will out sing the boys!! Have a wonderful week in Christ.

I worship God when I pray to Him.

Another day in Kids Kraze… another fun day.
The kids this morning took the ROADIE CHALLENGE and they surprised Mrs. Jessica and Mrs. Holly with how fast they were.  They had to spin around the same number of times as their age (you know, because roadies are sometimes sleepy and out of it from all the time on the road) and move around band equipment (amps, speakers, guitar case, etc.). Our top 3 kid finishers were : Seth, Raine and Ben.  Josh, Lifesong’s Director of Volunteers, came in and got in on the fun too… Here is a short video :-)

After all of that fun, we talked about how we can worship God when we pray to Him. We learned that while we can talk to God when we pray, we can also not say anything at all and have Him speak to us. Nate talked to Cloud 9 today about how prayer in our life is like a drum beat  -  without it, our life can fall apart. A band without a drummer can get off beat and everyone can start playing their own rhythm and before long, it sounds pretty bad.  A life without prayer is not good.

Have a great week guys, see you Sunday!

Only God is worthy of my worship!

We had a great day in Kids Kraze today! We started our new series, Center Stage, and got our very own backstage passes. We also welcomed in two new roadies…. Raine and Ben moved up from Wee Wonders! Welcome guys!!

If you click on the link at the top that says VIDEOS, you can see the cool video that the Lifesong band helped us with. We have some new rules in Kids Kraze and they were awesome enough to tell us what they are.

With school starting back (for most of us) tomorrow, we talked about the fact that we should put God first in all that we do and that is the best way to worship Him.

Mrs. Beth’s small group today talked about priorities and how nothing is more important that God. Mrs. Holly’s group made instruments and talked about the different ways we can worship God.

I will tell the good news of Jesus

July 13, 2009 - Leave a Response

Wow! Our last day Ship Wrecked. I am so glad that Aaron and Jamie found a way back to their parents. It was a lesson that Jamie had to learn; she had some great news and she had to decide weather to share it with Aaron or keep it to her self. So what did she do???

Yep, she choose the right thing to do – she shared that good news with Aaron and they found the way back to the resort. This is exactly what we are supposed to do with the message of Jesus. We are supposed to share the good news with other, never be shy or afraid.

I have enjoyed these past 8 weeks on the island learning about Paul and his adventures and how he told everyone he met about Jesus and His love for them. But get ready! We are about to go on Center Stage to follow around a rock band and learn what true worship is all about. It’s going to be fun the next 8 weeks in Kraze, you don’t want to miss it.

See you all Sunday at the Park!

I am proud to be on God’s team!

I was so glad to be back in Kidz Kraze this week.  I really missed everyone!

This Sunday was a great lesson.  Here’s what went down in Kraze:

  • our lesson was about how Paul was never ashamed to share Jesus with others and  how he was proud to be on God’s team.
  • Aaron dealt with being embarrassed of being in a club and Jamie made fun of him.  But then Jamie realized how cool it was when Aaron didn’t back down from what he enjoyed doing.
  • Wesley and Tripp are AWESOME pretend surfer-dudes!
  • All the girls really have down the hula dance – look’in good!
  • had an cool illustration that made a connection with colored paper balls vs white paper balls.  How are we supposed to be like the colored paper balls?  What are we supposed to do?
  •  RED FINALLY won in the crab race this week – way to go RED!  Sorry Seth that you weren’t there to see it :o (

I hope you all have a great week this week.  Next Sunday is our last Sunday with Ship Wrecked.  Do you think that Jamie and Aaron will get rescued finally?  You’ll just have to come to find out.
